Eyelash Extension FAQ

What are Classic Eyelash Extensions?

Classic Eyelash Extensions are a popular new service and product that lengthens and thickens your own natural eyelashes. Classic Eyelash Extensions are single strands of synthetic eyelashes that are curved to replicate a natural eyelash. They are applied to each individual natural eyelash one by one for a natural, beautiful and luscious look.

How long will a set of Classic Eyelash Extensions last?

When applied properly, classic eyelash extensions will last the length of the natural growth cycle of your eyelashes.  Everyone’s experience will differ based on day to day activities and daily care but over all touch-ups should only be required every 2 to 3 weeks.

How often should I get touch-ups?

Touch ups are recommended every 2 to 3 weeks. If you wait too long your eyelash extensions will fall out and you might require a full set. Your natural eyelashes shed daily due to the natural growth cycle and are naturally replaced with the growth of a new eyelash. A regular touch up is when you have approximately 50% of your current eyelash extensions remaining.

How do I know how they will look once applied?

Your lash technician should conduct a consultation reviewing any sensitivities or allergies you may have as well as discussing your desired look that you would like from your classic eyelash extensions. Your lash technician is trained to uphold the integrity of your natural lash by choosing the appropriate weight (thickness) of each individual eyelash extension.

Will the Classic Eyelash Extensions look like false strip lashes?

Your lash technician will evaluate your natural lashes under a magnifying lamp or magnifier glasses and determine what the most responsible weight (thickness), length and curl style is for your natural lashes taking into consideration your desired look. I like to tell my clients, “You tell me how you want your lashes to look. My job is to be responsible with keeping the integrity of your natural hair in tact”. Your lash technician will inform you prior to beginning the application of your new Classic Eyelash Extensions if your desired look is not achievable based on your natural lash health.

How long is the appointment?

A new set of Classic Eyelash Extensions can take different technicians different lengths of time. The length of your appointment for a new set will vary depending on the technician and how many natural eyelashes you have. On average Bella Faces Design Studio lash technicians can take anywhere from 1 hour up to 2 hours for a new set of Classic Eyelash Extensions. Each subsequent visit for touch-ups can range from 45 minutes up to an hour and a half.

What are Volume or Russian Volume Eyelash Extensions?

What is the difference between Classic Eyelash Extensions and Russian Volume Eyelash Extensions?

Russian Volume Eyelash Extensions are substantially finer, thinner and lighter compared to Classic Eyelash Extensions which is why we are able to apply multiple Volume Eyelash Extensions to each natural lash. As Classic Eyelash Extensions are made in different sizes, Russian Volume Eyelash Extensions are as well. Your lash technician should use their best judgement when choosing the weight of your volume eyelash extensions and consider the quantity of volume eyelash extensions they are choosing to create your volume fans.

Are Volume Eyelash Extensions the same as individual lashes I’ve gotten at the nail salon before?

Volume Eyelash Extensions ARE NOT the same as the kind nail salons are offering. Most nail salons in our immediate area are known to use the cluster lashes along with the medial grade acrylic resin that is used for individual eyelash extensions. The challenge with cluster lashes with permanent adhesive is the base (bulb) of the cluster lashes is substantially wider than one natural eyelash. When applying cluster lashes it is inevitable that multiple natural eyelashes is adhered together due to the base (bulb). Natural eyelashes shed at different times from one to the next, if multiple natural eyelashes are adhered together and shed at different times it can become uncomfortable when a natural lash sheds from your skin but is stuck to other natural lashes that haven’t shed from your skin yet. Cluster lashes are cheap, uncomfortable and unhealthy for your natural lashes UNLESS you are using temporary adhesive and removing them at the end of each day.

What if the Russian Volume Eyelash Extensions are too dramatic?

If your Russian Volume Eyelash Extensions are too dramatic definitely inform your lash technician so that the two of you can come to a solution that you are happy with. We do offer a combination of Russian Volume Eyelash Extensions and Classic Eyelash Extensions.
